Charlie Kirk doesn’t just flirt with hate—he industrializes it. His rhetoric isn’t accidental; it’s engineered to provoke, divide, and dehumanize. By branding marginalized groups as threats to ‘orderly society,’ he gives permission for cruelty to masquerade as patriotism. His platform doesn’t just reflect resentment—it amplifies it, turning personal bitterness into public policy. Hurt people hurt people, yes—but Kirk has built a career on making sure that pain is weaponized, not healed.
If hate were a crime, how are people supposed to feel about Netanyahu or Trump? Maybe the real weaponization was the person choosing to pick up a rifle and murder another for using his voice and sharing opinions somewhere along the way.
Similarly, the people speaking against Israel shouldn't be imprisoned in the UK for speaking, and the people that say it is fair because the protesters demand people like Netanyahu be imprisoned by the ICC. The censorship regime there will claim they are only wielding power against people who spread hate too.
I'm a UVU student. I didn't even know Charlie Kirk was going to be at my campus until a student in one of my classes said that he got a text alert from the school saying that he had been shot.
In case anyone asks, I'm ok. They had us in a stay-in-place lockdown for about 45 minutes, then we got another text alert saying that the campus is closed, classes are cancelled, and to leave campus immediately.
I took a bike to school today so I was able to get home, but there was some serious gridlock for car traffic. I made it home safely, and when I did, I received another text alert saying never mind, stay in lockdown on campus and don't leave until police can escort everyone home. The roads are currently closed and the student body of 45k students, not including faculty, so I can't imagine what it's like logistically.
I'm no fan of Charlie Kirk, but I wish the best for him and his family and hope that everyone can get home safely
I was kind of looking forward to his upcoming debate in a couple weeks with Hasan Piker. Instead, we're in an age of political assassinations. Inevitable culturally considering mass shootings were so common before the assassinations began.
This is so frustrating. His rhetoric makes him one of the least surprising assassinations yet, though. Not saying he deserved death. But it's only getting more chaotic and his martyr status will serve to further divide.
This came up on my Substack randomly; I had no idea you were doing political stuff these days. I remember you from high school in Brian Brushwood videos on Rev3. Anyway, the craziest thing to me is that people I follow outside of politics, who I thought were ‘normal’ people, are showing their true colors today in their sudden idolatry of Charlie Kirk. Meaning these people are fans of this fascist. Regardless, this is just a terrible thing politically to happen right now, where we are already in an authoritarian state.
Word of advice: stay off social media until you process this. It's absolutely ghoulish out there right now.
No. Don't stay off. I just found slomo video that shows White Hat and the bullet.
White Hat signals, the shot is visible in the air less than a minute later. That shot came from the crowd

This is definitely ChatGPT comment
Double dash got em again!
Yes, of course. My grammar is abnormal.

I don’t want anybody to die. Is it OK if we try to stop gun violence now?

*roads are closed, and with a student body of 45k plus faculty, I can't imagine...
There was a shooting today at a Colorado high school. Multiple injuries.
Do with this info what you will.
Thank you, Justin.

Sane words. Well said.
Well spoken, Justin.
Thank you for this. I had to close most of my social media because the comments were so toxic. I live not far from UVU and I'm deeply shaken.
I'm a UVU student and also live close. It's still pretty surreal for me
Thank you. ❤️ This is so heartbreaking.
