However, in recent years, the Republican party has made significant gains in the state, with Governor Ron DeSantis winning by a 20-point margin in the 2020 election.
Despite this, Steve Schale, a Democratic strategist, believes that it is still possible to elect Democrats in Florida, as long as the Democratic party works to increase voter registration and build a presence in the state capital of Tallahassee.
