Don't any of these magas go shopping. Any fool can see groceries are up on all items. Stop telling us what we are paying at the grocery store is not real. Trump regime gives us nothing but lies. Get them out of office.

Biden tried to convince the American people not to believe their own eyes….Trump is doing the same. Not a recipe for success. I say this as a Trump supporter.

RepublicansSuck's avatar

You are a real fucking moron biden did so much good could of did so much more but scumbag trump blocking all the good stuff. Wow how many our so fucking stupid anyone that voted for trump should go to jail.

Sestra0's avatar

Why would you support such a terrible person?

MU2002's avatar

Well, like tens of millions of Americans, I don’t agree he’s a terrible person. And I like most of his policies, especially when compared to the alternative. Pretty straight forward.

Sarah Jane's avatar

Which policies in particular are you a fan of?

MU2002's avatar

I'd start with immigration. In a matter of weeks, Trump closed the border to illegal entrants. Biden intentionally admitted over 10M. We now have zero known illegal border crossings a month. Biden was admitting thousands every day. I, like most Americans, favor deportations.

Economically, I favor pro-growth policies. Eliminate burdensome regulations and lower taxes. Trump did this to great effect in his first term. Verdict is out on the impacts of the BBB. Achieving 'most favored nations' status with the biggest pharma companies is a big deal. That WILL reduce the cost of healthcare. No one else has been able to do that. Tariffs appear to be working in that we are resetting trade terms and manufacturers/importers have largely eaten the cost of the tariffs (inflation is under control). Tariffs have also been used as part of Trump's overall foreign policy. Trade deals and commitments of trillions ($) in foreign investment in the US instead of pointless wars and regime change. I'll take that every day of the week.

Foreign Policy: he's re-asserted America's strength on the world stage. He's ended (or at least made progress toward ending) several long-standing conflicts. It's undisputed that he alone can bring the Russia/Ukraine war to an end, if that's even possible. He negotiated the Israel/Hamas peace deal, fragile though it may be. And he got the remaining hostages released. As stated above, he's driving peace using economic leverage as opposed to wars and wet dreams of establishing democracy in cultures who don't want it. No new wars...same as the first term

Then there are the culture war issues. I'm 100% in favor or eliminating the DEI racket and all identity-based policies/politics. The trans ideology nonsense is beyond the pale. I believe we'll look back on this era with enormous regret, especially when it comes to what we've done to our kids.

I do think he has some work to do on affordability. Biden left him an absolute mess, but now it's on Trump. We're in the first quarter of his second term...he has work to do. I am looking forward to what he puts forth on Healthcare. The ACA is broken...it was built to fail. I can think of no one better to negotiate healthcare insurance on behalf of the American people than Trump and his team. I truly hope the GOP somehow retains the house and senate, otherwise it will be a two-year standstill.

I could go on, but what's the point. Is he perfect? Absolutely not. Is he better than what the Democrats are putting forth? All day long.

Sarah Jane's avatar

That's a lot of rhetoric without naming any actual policies AND talking about Biden. You fail.

MU2002's avatar

I would just like to point out that another user ( @sarahjanefeelingstrange ) asked me ‘what specific policies I support’ in response to my comment above. I took time to list out a number of policies from Immigration, to the Economy, Foreign Policy, and a few culture war issues.

Her response was to delete the entire thread.

You all need to deal in reality. You can’t just delete it.

Sounds like you could use a healthy dose of reality as well, Mr. High Horse Person. Im blocking you so don’t bother.

Jenn Jones's avatar

Actually, grocery prices are down. I've noticed it in the last month. Good to see.

Mat Lainer's avatar

Poor Margaret. No gotcha this week.

Jennifer's avatar

I wish journalists would just start saying “that isn't true”

Gary Moore's avatar

Right! One “ Just a Minute now!” would do it.

Carol Vitko's avatar

Or ask them when was the last time they've been in a grocery store. And if prices are down, where is this store so we can all take advantage of it.

Loquacious1's avatar

Walmart. When times are difficult financially, food is always more expensive, he didn’t claim food is cheap, only down from how high it was. When costs are as they have been, we as Americans should become creative in our food habits like we did during the depression and stretch food to last longer and buying less luxury items. We aren’t rich but manage to keep ourselves well fed on our budget, but keep a few favorite luxuries and make those last so there isn’t a feeling of being deprived.

Americans eat better than most nations yet squander on fast foods. easy meals, restaurants, when they should make meals at home. People don’t want to subsist on casseroles, beans, or less trendy food options, but that is what we do to get through rough patches in an economy. We unfortunately became spoiled and many don’t have the same patriotic spirit our ancestors did.

This cannot be blamed on a single president, it rolled downhill to where it is over several years of bad management, and now we all pay. Preventing Americans from getting much needed food is what we should be most focused on, and we know in our hearts that isn’t one sided either.

Disagree, but don’t play fast and hard with a food supply to win a petty fight over immigration and fix the immigration issue instead by helping with documentation that holds immigrants responsible for being here and working, paying into taxes that feeds the poorest among us, themselves included.

After that, I hope they do it with “plant based diet” and “climate change.”

You are a good example of why the 19th Amendment needs to be rescinded.

What good example is to have the right to vote should be rescinded because that’s the 19th amendment

Charley A's avatar

Great example of the old saying “Figures don’t lie, but liars can figure.”

Sarah Jane's avatar

Lol you're so cute out here shouting BOT when you don't like a comment. Very ineffectual, very impotent.

I am SOOOOOO sick and tired of the BIDEN, BIDEN, BIDEN routine. Why can’t they act like adults and take responsibility. Every time one of these lackeys says Biden they should get shocked and have an egg thrown at their face. Enough already.

WhatsMadderU's avatar

So are you just like retarded or just an asshole or just both?

Sit Down and shut up.

One of the frustrating parts of the larger discourse, besides the fact that this TV show is built on yelling at it, is that whether Biden or Trump or anyone at all, what ever present administration is in power either takes credit for things they have absolutely no control over, or just plain lies about perceived failures (ditto) and we nod or yell about their fabrications. All to sell ads. Hassett is a practiced spokesman, not at all a functional or meaningful actual performer.

Let’s give you Mr gaslight $100 bucks to grocery shop with for a week of 2-3 meals per day! Here’s some reality math for you- you will come out of the store with around 7-12 items for that price! Maybe for one person if it’s spaghetti and peanut butter sandwich’s . But family of two or more??? Fuck off ‼️
