An ABC News–Ipsos poll now has President Trump at 39 percent approval and 60 percent disapproval, the first time in this term that he has crossed both of those thresholds in the wrong direction. The deeper problem is not just overall approval. It is where the erosion is happening.
On immigration enforcement, his approval sits at 40 percent with 58 percent disapproval. On inflation, it drops to 32 percent approval and 65 percent disapproval. Even on the U.S.–Mexico border, long considered one of his stronger issues, he is only narrowly underwater.
