Trump calls for GA Sec of State to reverse election in taped call
WASHINGTON POST
I was waiting for a Kelly Loeffler rally to start when this broke. A staffer came up to me as I was setting up and asked who I was with. I made mention that I was going to be at the big rally tomorrow night with Trump “…if it was still happening.” They looked back at me with a face that read “nothing will surprise me anymore.”
At that point, either of us had time to listen to the tape. But both of us knew it was yet another swell of insanity in an already unhinged symphony of chaos.
The call itself is a bizarre hour that highlights one major theme, there is no plan from Trump. It is just to swing and swing and swing and see if he can connect. The Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger only speaks when asked a direct question which does not happen until 14 minutes into the hour-long call because Trump is monologuing. This intro lets loose every strand of spaghetti he can find against the wall to see what will stick. But his central thesis is as follows:
There is no way he lost Georgia because reasons. He is sure he won by 400,000+ but he is willing to make a deal. Just admit you were wrong on 12,000 (enough to erase Biden’s lead) and Trump will drop all of it.
And you know what? That’s the kind of stuff that you can do A WEEK after the election. Maybe two weeks. Hell, a month may even be possible under extreme circumstances. But only days before congress will certify the results of the election? C’mon dude. Besides, flipping Georgia does not win him the election.
In fact, I know two candidates in a senate runoff who wish Trump was harassing the state GOP in another of the battleground contests he lost.
Kelly Loeffler is right now the most famous person on the trail with 48 hours to go until Runoff Day. She’s not an electric public speaker and has less experience than David Perdue who is quarantined. Meanwhile, the real secret weapon is Trump who is now radioactive because of the state feud.
Gonna be a hell of a rally tomorrow…

Historical reasons why Warnock is avoiding a race conversation
POLITICO
Well done article but I will say the most recent Warnock ads on local TV drop the “I love puppies” schtick in favor of a “let’s tell the truth about Loeffler” vibe.
LIVE FROM GA! TRUMP TAPE BREAKDOWN!
All of my thoughts from my first full day on the battleground of Georgia as well as a full breakdown of the Trump call of the Georgia Secretary of State on this episode of Px3 Extra. The Px3 $3 Club is always a good value but some days… well, it’s just a must listen. This is one of those value eps.

In the races I am covering here in Georgia the candidates have raised over $440 million collectively.
In 2000, Al Gore ran for president on $133 million. Ossoff alone raised $140 million.

What, the Prez isn't accountable and only is entitled to self-congratulatory praise for his achievements? (agreed, great job on China policy)
I'm okay not comparing his COVID-19 leadership and results to China, Germany, etc. But I won't soon forget his latest prognostication before the Election that the US has "Turned the corner." Okay, we should have known better when the Prez said, "COVID-19 would, like magic, be gone by April." - MOONLITNIGHT
Everyone is going to shred or praise him to their own taste. My point was more to just say that Wright largely focuses on the government as a massive machine with millions of cogs that plugs into an even larger machine called culture. Trump is a massive cog but is certainly not God.

I think it’s simply hubris to presume that we could possibly contain the wuflu. Plagues happen. People die. “It’s the democrats fault!” and “It’s the republicans fault!” and even “It’s both of them!” are takes that are so far up their own asses that it borders on the hilarious. It’s because of politics that the death rate is around 1000 per million? Really? We just needed Biden and Trump to come together, arm in arm, brotherly love, and say “Mask up, folks!” and we’d have been all fine and fkn dandy? So it was American politics that is responsible for the identical death rate in the UK, where they locked down harder and had more restrictions and punishments for violations than anywhere on earth? I suppose it was American politics that was responsible for the near identical death rates in Spain, Brazil, Peru, Mexico, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic? And the death rates of the countless other nations that are within plus or minus 15% of the US death rate? All of them? They were just slightly less effected by the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad US politics?
This is absurd. I’ll say it again: Plagues happen and people die. 2020 was just that. A plague happened. People died. - SCALE
We are a Can Do kind of people here Scale. Whatever we did, we could have done better. My point wasn’t that we didn’t fire a magic bullet, just that the government of a massive country would have operated quicker without a take-no-prisoners, atone-after-victory Holy War also taking place simultaneously.

The most disappointing thing in the COVID response is how easily turning this into fodder for the culture war could be avoided.
Como and other Democratic governors equally downplayed the virus like Trump. Admitting an early misstep blamed on a staffer that gets fired publicly Apprentice style, Trump pins any attempts to criticize him as partisan distraction. He helps organize national lockdown and reopening guidelines, and depicts any criticism as distracting from an emergency.
This ironically would have played out akin to the Bush Admin post 9-11, and let Trump probably coast through the Democratic primary season. There also would have been at least a semblance of moral high ground to condemn the mass protests during a pandemic. If not a layup by being America’s dad during a crisis he could at least be America’s CEO. - MIKE M

"Would we have saved lives if we postponed the election?"
Doubtful. Trump hasn't stopped running for election since he descended down that gold coloured escalator. He would have fought anyone, election or not, who didn't agree with his handling of COVID and his reluctance to mask-up or take the virus seriously. Though it might be proven in the next two or three years the incoming administration won't fare any better against the virus/bureaucracy, changing QBs when you're down near 233,000 (as of Nov 5) doesn't seem like a bad idea. - KAIZOKU74

Vaccinating in hospitals is challenging. My SO is being told to pre-treat possible side effects before her vaccination. Tylenol for headaches and fever type thing. It has also been suggested she get it later in the week so if she gets a fever it is on planned days off. She is getting it Tuesday, because that is the earliest time. The slow roll out is painful and problematic but at least it is happening. They also need to pull people away from normal work to give the vaccines.
In the car today we heard about AZ hospitals giving ICU nurses 2 or more patients. Boy did I get educated. If you are in the ICU and your nurse has thier attention devided with any other patient you should be concerned. Too bad you will be unconscious and clinging to life to be aware of the situation. - ANONYMOUS
