VETO COVID RELIEF?
Sen. Hawley urges Trump to veto any COVID bill without direct payments
POLITICO
And now we’re cooking. Only days until a COVID relief bill needs to be completed and now we’re finally seeing some 11th hour hardball. The latest is Missouri Senator Josh Hawley imploring Trump to put his foot down on any version of the bill that doesn’t put money directly in the pockets of Americans.
It’s a populist move that will resonate well with the new “working class” GOP and deftly strip something from the Democrats. However, it will not sit well with the fiscally conservative Republicans who want to pass as small of a bill as possible.

Trump administration denies report that it refused purchase of Pfizer vaccines
THE HILL
This is surprising. You’d think that vaccine purchasing is the only thing that the Trump administration would have been thinking of. The idea that they wouldn’t secure more of them is odd. But then again, the Trump administration was never detail oriented.

“It really is a superhuman effort on our part to get this together in time to help the American people as quickly as possible.” - D—khead Durbin
*Record scratch* Yeah, you heard right. Old Richard Dumbass is Hercules taming the Cretan Bull. I can't remember, did D—khead already clean out the stables at Augean, because that sure sounds like bulls—t.
Superman got nothing on Durbin, you heard is here first folks. - ERIC

Re: "Hell Week" when a 'top democrat' says that passing bi-partisan pandemic relief requires "superhuman efforts" we have already lost. This is congress, it is made of humans, this is literally their only job. As a blue dog democrat, I believe the government exists to aid the needy. Right now most of America is needy, this isn't superhuman. Then again is two people or 100 people work together on something is that superhuman? If it helps 330 Million people is it superhuman? Where are the feisty congressional reporters who attack dumbass language? - SEAN
Being a congressional reporter feels like a very access driven game. Expect at lot of “Yanno, credit where credit is due” tweets when whatever this deal is happens.

First, let me say I'm hesitant to say anything critical about Canada's healthcare in fear the reader will say "You see! Canadian death lines! GoFundMe style healthcare is the only system that works!"
That said, my daughter was recently in contact with someone with Covid and I'm sure wishing we had one of those Drive Through Insta-Matic Combination Covid Test and Oil Change like apparently y'all have down there. So personally, I think you ought to feel proud you've come up with such pervasive testing system with speedy results. My daughter was tested Saturday morning, I'll let you know when we see the results.
I'd wager that the percentage of Canadians who've taken Covid tests is quite low. - KEVIN
