THE LAST TRUMP RALLY
Trump’s Georgia event for Senate runoffs sure felt like the end of an era
YOUTUBE
At the end of the tour
When the road disappears
If there's any more people around
When the tour runs aground
And if you're still around
Then we'll meet at the end of the tour
The engagements are booked through the end of the world
So we'll meet at the end of the tour
The crowd was hot. The candidate gracious to their cheers. He promised an endless fight. But no fight truly lasts forever. The 45th president knows that his tour that began on a golden escalator might have run aground in Valdosta, Georgia.
Sure, there was the bluster. The steadfast claims that the election was rigged. That they will continue to battle in the courts. That he won.
But there was also the lapses. The references to how happy Iran was now that he’s gone. It sounds a lot like the song Trump will sing from here on out. Common sense truisms mixed with whatever the grievance of the moment is.
The most telling? That the event, a rally to support the GOP candidates in the GA runoff, happened at all. This wasn’t a scorched Earth Stop The Steal screed against cowardice in conservative state leadership for not being tougher of fraud claims, although the governor and secretary of state were mentioned a few times.
This was the future.
Trump wielding political power as the figurehead of a populist movement.
Trump said he almost didn’t do the rally because he was tired and it was a lot of work. He said he wouldn’t mind heading to Florida and taking time off. He will likely do that.
Do we see him back on the trail in the future? Possibly. But for the first time in five years… I’m not sure.

Ossoff/Warnock bet on stock trading to hurt GOP in GA runoffs
THE HILL
The Republicans have fully nationalized the Georgia runoffs. Even if you find Warnock likable and Ossoff pleasant this is about the most radical liberal ideas becoming a reality. This is about AOC and Bernie and Chuck and Nancy.
The Democrats are countering with corruption. Loeffler and Perdue are both very rich and have increased their wealth through insider trading during the pandemic. While you suffered, they schemed up the money for a new mansion.
As vaccines head to authorization, Biden battles with HHS over distribution plans
THE HILL
My guess is that the accepted truth about the 2020 election will be that Trump’s haphazard handling of the coronavirus killed his shot at reelection. His legacy’s saving grace is the speed and production of the vaccines. He and his administration will protect that tooth and nail.

For some reason Canadian radio (via Sirius) is the only reliable thing to calm down our fussy infant on car rides. So this noisy neighbor fully supports CBC’s Canada First policy. - RICHARD

The CDC decreasing the recommended quarantine time is an example of making a compromise. If a two-week quarantine is (hypothetically) 98% effective, but people find it too burdensome and don't comply, it defeats the purpose. If a one-week quarantine is (again hypothetically) 70-90%, but a more reasonable amount of time to more people, it will have greater compliance, and will be more effective at slowing the transmission of COVID-19. The failure to recognize this is a problem I have with the "listen to the science" crowd. Some people may want to be 100% safe, but most people are comfortable with a level of risk and balance that against the cost of added safety when it comes to things like driving, consuming food/drugs/alcohol, swimming or crossing the street. - J. Sum 41s frontman also dated Paris Hilton. He has said in interviews that her eyes never glowed while they were having sex. Also Sk8erboi is about him.
I saw them last year and they put on a massive show despite being in small venues. They do not skimp on lighting rigs. - SEAN

I was going for my morning walk when something you said recently triggered and blew my mind.
If Nixon genuinely believed that election fraud occurred in 1960 robbing him of the presidency, I think the resulting 12 years of election cynicism might drive you to bug some DNP offices, if only just to even the score.
Suddenly, I have an urge to read Nixon's memoirs.

Holiday question for you. Since the Christmas season is upon us and everyone is pretty down and cannot do much, do you have a PO Box that your listeners/viewers can send you a Christmas Card or gift to spread some holiday cheer and show our appreciation for you and the show during this God awful year? Really, you and Heaton have been a light of hope and entertainment during this tough time. - LUCAS
Indeed I do!

I've never really seen London Breed as the next CA Senator, but your comments actually made it seem more plausible considering how inside politics works in this state. If you look at housing (a VERY important issue out here), there's a generally progressive side that wants to ease restrictions (State Rep. Scott Weiner is probably the emblematic leader of this) and an elite/technocratic side that tends to run along more NIMBY lines. (I'll let you all guess which side Gavin Newsom plays for.) Breed came from the more progressive wing, but in recent times she's expressed frustration with activists and taken steps to restrict development in the Bay Area. In other words, she's shaping up to be a Pelosi Democrat rather than a Sanders Democrat, and making sure that Nancy Pelosi doesn't have any poors creeping on her real estate is a good way to prove your worth to the Sacramento machine. I thought she hadn't spent enough time in the machine to get that big of a spot, but FrenchLaundryGate clearly proves that her connections to Sacramento are still good and getting better. She could beat out a lot of good soldiers if she can bring the same mix of identity and elite-friendly politicking that Kamala Harris did. - DEAN

Damn Canadians and their Sum 41 propaganda! We need to cut all trade with them at once and go to war! I won't let America lose to a Canadian culture victory! Science or military are the only real ways to win a game of Civilization! - KIM G
