David Litt's anecdote about being around a conference table with everyone graduated from some elite college wondering why they can't reach out to those people who didn't go to college reminds me of an anecdote that my uncle told me. He worked for Governor Mario Cuomo and one day in response to an editorial that his administration wasn't very diverse Cuomo became irritated and claimed to my uncle and 4 other high up staff "This is the most diverse administration that could possibly exist". To which my Irish-American uncle said "Governor, there's 3 Italians and 3 Irish in this room, and not even one Polock. Sir this isn't even a diverse group of Catholics".
