White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt will step down at the end of August, saying she can’t give both her two young children and the demanding job the attention they deserve. Trump says she’ll remain a top outside adviser and influential Republican voice heading into the midterms. Usually when a press secretary steps down, there’s a pretty orderly transition. Grade the Trump administration on a curve because it’s a little helter-skelter, but the rumors that her replacement won’t come from within make me think they might be stunt casting.
Two names surfaced, and one was Kari Lake. But there’s somebody else who might be downright Trumpian in his ability to identify wedge-issue news stories and put the right spin on them: Spencer Pratt.
