McMorrow Bows Out. Johnson Pushes SAVE America. Where Exactly is Mitch McConnell?

Why Mallory McMorrow's failed campaign is bad news for Pete 2028.

I hope everybody had a great Independence Day and a great celebration of America’s 250th birthday. We had a phenomenal time here in Austin, surrounded by kids two and under — a far cry from the Fourths of July I spent in my late twenties getting absolutely blotto on a boat off Fort Lauderdale Beach.

I caught up on Trump’s speech this morning, alongside the fireworks from the National Mall. The speech was more partisan than somebody else’s might have been, but for Donald Trump it was earnestly corny: a wall of historic American flags, battle-worn veterans, and the oldest flag apparently known to America. Then came roughly 40 minutes of fireworks designed to be the biggest and longest display ever fired on planet Earth. If you want America to go bigger, go home. Trump wants the US to be the biggest and the best, and that’s just who the president is right now. The process of getting there may be haphazard and weird, but the stage looked phenomenal, and boy, was that was a lot of fireworks.
